Sans Regrets
(Recorded in Los Angeles during January - April 1992.
Produced by Bernard Saint-Paul.
Released on 22 May 1992)

Sans Regrets:  A worthy title track of what is debatably Véronique's best studio album.  Strong lyrics and an immediately likeable tune.  A good  enough song to attract a wide variety of tastes.

Louise:   A classic Sanson ballad, and this time with English lyrics.  Quite pleasant in its own right, but it has that "album track" status feel.

Mon Voisin: Second single release.  On first listening to the album, this song is many people's favourite.  Indeed, for me it comes across much better as a studio track than when performed live.  I think the subtle
intonations on this recording are very hard to recreate in concert.  Nearly everyone will like this track, a song originally written at the beginning of Véronique's career, with lyrics by Violaine Sanson.

Rien que de l'eau: is adapted from Bernard Swell's song "I wanna know": First single release from the album.  Contrary the song before, this one comes across best in concert, and "best" means brilliantly.  One of her "fullest sounding" tracks.

Les Hommes: "B" side to Panne de coeur.  Slower number again. An "OK" song, with similar description to "Louise" except it's in French.

Jusqu'à la tombée du jour: "B" side to Rien que de l'eau.  I like this one because it sticks in you mind although I wouldn't say it is instantly catchy. I often find myself singing it though (rather 'trying to' ... actually it's quite easy to sing!).

Odeur de neige:  It's a soft number, but there's something about this which makes it my favourite track of the album.  After seeing a "video" of it on a French TV show, I thought it would be released as a single,
but it was only to be as a promo.  A shame - it's beautiful!

Le feu du ciel:  The verses step along, but a nicely varying sequence for the chorus, and the two go together great.  This song really keeps your interest - if you really listen it is quite sophisticated.  Originally released on 45rpm with "Le Printemps est là".!

Visiteur et voyageur:  The slow intro makes you wonder what's going to happen, but it becomes a beautiful ballad.  Only critisism is I find it to be lacking in variance for a depth of character.

Panne de coeur: Third single release.  Written at the same time as the "Amoureuse" album.  A simple tune, but strong.  The first few listenings you might question whether the song works, but it soon grabs you!

Mon Voisin (reprise):  A longer version... well worth an extended version !
