Vancouver:
This is one of Véronique Sanson's best ever compositions. One of her
most popular tracks played live. Her 1994 duet with Nina Morato
on Taratata produced an excellent rendition.

When
we're together: One of a number of English tracks,
written for Stephen Stills. A quiet number; not bad, but
relatively uninspiring.
|
Redoutable:
In a similar vein to "When we're together"... simply quite
pleasant.
|
Donne-toi:
Vancouver picks up again from here. Véro sings with some life
and some motion, and some daring lyrics! "Ose
le faire, ose le dire, ose aimer"!
|
Une
Maison après la mienne: It takes a couple of listens
before you really get the feel of the direction this melody is
taking. However, once you "understand" it, it's quite
sophisticated and capturizing stuff! Written with her sister Violaine.
|
Étrange
Comédie: An easily recognisable song from the album.
Plenty of sparkle in the tune, and lyrically what many expatriates can
relate to, or just if you are in a strange place! One to play if
you are away from home!
|
Sad
Limousine: A lovely song but with a sad story. It's
a song about splitting up (Stills again!). However, I really
love this track. It's one to give you strength when you feel
alone.
|
Tu
sais que je t'aime bien:
This song is really cool! In fact it nearly pips
Vancouver in being the best track. A brilliant piano riff, and
it makes this song different... and the chorus captures
you!
|
Full
tilt frog: Another super track... another one in English.
This is the closest Véronique has come to rock 'n' roll this far in
her career. It comes over perfectly in concert - you must hear
the version at the end of the Olympia '89 live album!
